We tried out the Golden Pineapple 🍍 for lunch. It was a nice spot to pull up to with plenty of street parking. They have two different sides of the shop one with sandwiches and the other with more Hawaiian poke and BBQ. It is all takeout at this time so there are no seats to eat so be prepared to take it and head home. We ordered the poke and a sandwich were pretty good. I would give it another go.

Had the Lau Lau Rice Bowl. Kalua pork not enough flavor, but hands down better & fresher than Lau Lau from L&L. Whomever packed my bowl doesn’t know the difference between chili-peppa-water vs Lomi Salmon. (They packed my bowl with the chili peppa water). I was looking forward to the lomi salmon! Rice was a bit loose & wet - like they added to much water when the re-heated it. Also had 1/2 pound spicy ahi poke. Pretty bad. Too much mayo. Only took two bites and threw the rest of my $14 poke away. Made for the mainland palate. Will stick to Oto’s. Fresher fish & fresher taste. Got Plate Lunch in Rancho used to cut fresh fish to order for their poke. I haven’t been to their Benicia spot. I Will keep trying this restaurant & see if they can fine tune the authenticity they advertise! 🌺🤙🏽🏝️

What a beautiful space! The walls are bright, the menus are eye catching and ceiling is stunning. There is Hawaiian food on one side and deli sandwiches (or Sami’s as they say here) on the other side. The staff was kind and helpful with ingredient questions. No matter which side you order from, you pick up on the deli side. I loved the veggie ramen. My daughter got the Katsu Tofu said the price vs the amount of food wasn’t worth it. She did say she’ll be back for the veggie ramen though.

Glad to see this place finally open! We have been watching the construction for a long time. First week, so you can tell they are still hitting their stride with the building and the process (Hoping they are planning on some inside seating, and it seems likely based on the layout.) But even with that, the people were super friendly and the food was great! Had the Hawaiian plate, which features lau lau, Hawaiian mac, rice and a small cup of lomi salmon. Then you get to pick another main so I opted for the kalua pork and cabbage. All the food tasted great and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and good quality. It is not a cheap place, but the portion size was generous and given the quality you definitely feel like you get what you paid for. It is certainly in line with what food costs in Sacramento these days, and way better than you would get at any of the chain "Hawaiian" places that have become popular. Had some leftovers, so it will make a great snack for later. Overall, a great addition to the area and fills a nice culinary void in the NE corner of Midtown. Would be great if they offer their poke fish by the pound, because I would definitely start buying that on the re

What do you think of when you imagine a Hawaiian beach? Beautiful sand and fishes? Well that’s when you’ll find at The Golden Pineapple. Taking a two sided approach to Hawaiian cuisine, this new spot nestled in the Marshall New-Era Neighborhood offers fresh poke bowls and handcrafted sand-wiches for locals and visitors. We stopped by during the soft opening to a full shop with happy customers. We got the poke bowls, which was delicious. We’re looking forward to the full launch and trying more on the menu.
